When the DVM inspects your car would they say something about having a cold air intake
l have an acura rsx-s and it has Washington plates im trying to register
them in california. they dmv said they are going to inspect the car see if
there is any stolen parts. l have a cold air intake on it. would they say
something about that? would it not pass the inspection? btw l passed
the smog test already.
well it depends. the one thing they are going to look for in ur
intake is a CARB sticker. these are stickers that tell the dmv that that
intake is ok for california emissions. if ur intake doesnt have this then
you pretty much have to take that off & put in the stock one for when you
do ur inspection. i would check the manufacturers website or contact them
to see if they are CARB approved.
edit: i see that you passed smog already then youre probably fine because thats one thing the smog checkers look at.now just check all ur VIN numbers & see if they match because if they don't, DMV is probably going to think its a stolen part
basically they are looking for modifications that would prevent
passing
a smog check. and, by the way, it is DMV, not DVM. and it doesn't matter
where it is registered now, you must comply with Ca. law.
Yes. More than likely they will want it ''Stock'' especially
when you go to pass smog. Just keep your ''Stock'' equipment on hand or
find a smog specialist that will ''hook you up''.
